No. 13 track in La La Land OST, Epilogue, was presented at the reunion of the main actor and actress after many years. The main actor’s hand melancholy played the piano keys and reversed the other possible version of life at a blink. Soundtrack composer, Justin Hurwitz, cut many tracks of the movie into track no. 13, which cleverly immerse the main actor’s another life.

Seth’s classic once described that: the decision you made at the moment, your life goes by the direction of your decision, however, the unchosen one won’t disappear because it might be the other possible self, who would keep going on his/her own way.

For example, in main actor’s reversed life, both had life summits that he felt proud of and satisfied families. The life version that seemed non-existed did actually exist. Anytime he felt like to, he could get back to the self that he didn’t choose at that time. In other words, the main actor could possibly get back the main actress.

By the way, at the beginning of the movie, when the camera went through every car in the traffic jam, the music played by each other was so different. It was almost saying that every car had its own life. You could guess the life backgrounds of the car owners by listening to the music played in the cars.

The whole film highlighted the sound element – even sound in our daily lives was overstated than in other movies. That’s how it told stories by sounds.
